The Town of Hunter offers a wealth of state-maintained hiking trails, as well as some excellent biking terrain, both for the road cycling enthusiast and the mountain biker. The large number of back roads in the town offer road riding with scenery that is second to none.

Huckleberry Multi-use Trail	Offers a 2.3 mile stretch of graded dirt path For family bike riding, cross country skiing, and walking, starting on Clum Hill Road directly across from Cortina Valley. The opposite end is on Bloomer Road. In the middle of the path is Tannersville Lake, a village park that is open to the public. The trail follows the bed of the old Huckleberry Railroad which ran from the Catskill Mountain House west through Stamford. Plans are in the works to extend the trail to the village of Hunter.
Hunter Mountain	Take your bike up the "Skyride" chairlift on a rack on the back of a chair, and ride the trails at the summit. K2 bike rentals, an outdoor BBQ/snack bar, mountain guides/instructors, bike shop for basics: helmets, tubes, water bottles, etc. Great vistas, & rides. The "real" Hunter Mountain Fire Tower, Spruceton Road, and Old Fire Tower Road from Route 23A are potential rides as well as guided rides down the ski area. When you've had enough, you and your bike take the lift back down. Guided tours from the top will be offered every hour for those interested in riding down from the summit. Address: P.O.
